I'm asking because i'm a little more then flush but no tire stretching or camber. Didn't know such laws existed. If there is a law, IL would of picked up those laws instantly.

Can't find it right now but I'm pretty sure it's a common law. They either can't stick out at all, or there is a limit. They would need to have flares extended to cover them.

A splitter can't extend out past the body in the front, either.

Answer: A fender or mudguard must cover the complete width of the tires tread. This is in ORS 815.180 (1) (a). The fender or mudguard must also be of sufficient size and constructed so that it is capable of deflecting or arresting any dirt, mud, water or other substance that may be picked up and carried on the wheels.

Minnesota Statute

169.734 AUTOMOBILE FENDERS.
Every passenger automobile shall have fenders, or other devices, that are designed to
prevent, as far as practicable, water, dirt, or other material being thrown up and to the rear by
the wheels of the vehicle.

Fenders and Mudguards

27600. No person shall operate any motor vehicle having three or more wheels, any trailer, or semitrailer unless equipped with fenders, covers, or devices, including flaps or splash aprons, or unless the body of the vehicle or attachments thereto afford adequate protection to effectively minimize the spray or splash of water or mud to the rear of the vehicle and all such equipment or such body or attachments thereto shall be at least as wide as the tire tread. This section does not apply to those vehicles exempt from registration, trailers and semitrailers having an unladen weight of under 1,500 pounds, or any vehicles manufactured and first registered prior to January 1, 1971, having an unladen weight of under 1,500 pounds.

Section 266:57 Flaps; Guards.

Every vehicle operated in or upon any way, when not equipped with proper fenders to prevent the throw, spray, or splash of water, dirt, or other matter, shall be equipped with suitable fender guards or flaps which shall effectively reduce the throw, spray or splash likely to be emitted from any wheel or tire. Said flaps or guards required shall be of a type and size prescribed and approved by the director.

NH motor vehicle inspection requirements:

Saf-C 3211.06 Tire Width.

(a) A vehicle shall be rejected if the width of any tire or wheel assembly extends beyond the original manufacturer's specified fender lines, except in the case of passenger vehicles in which the fender line has been extended by using metal, rigid fiberglass or rigid rubber wheel-well extensions.

Yeah, these sorts of laws pretty much exist in every state in the U.S. Ignorance of them isn't justification for doing the stupidity the OP showed.

Seriously this is so stupid. GF suspension, GF tire life, GF wallet, just GF your life.

Its like somebody read the book on how to properly use rims and then said forget it I know better anyway, when they didn't.

Countdown before someone makes an aftermarket hoop that can be attached to a properly sized wheel/tire to give same appearance and still hold air.

I can honestly say a lot of them don't know what they're doing. I also drive a Jetta, and yes, it is lowered. But not a lot and not enough to make it impossible to drive.

Fortunately at shows most of the idiots are ignored and outcast.
