stress testing GPU

What is the best stress test for a 6800GT with an A8N / A64 3500+ ? I see a lot of reference to 3dmark, is this the recomended test? What version? 3Dmark01, 3Dmark03, 3Dmark05? Is the free version OK or do I need the Pro version?
Thanks

Your card is a real DX9C card so its suited to 3D Mark 2005, yes free is suffice, Pro only lets you change more settings and play demos of games, just run it at its default settings.

3DMark01's nature loop torture test. Repeat the Nature 25 times, if it's stable through that, it's stable through anything.

Does 3DMark05 have this Nature loop torture test?

No as 3D Mark 2001 se build 830 is for DX8.1 Cards like a Nvidia G-Force 4 TI, stick to 2005 that was made to test DX9C cards.

Move forward. 😉

you could always get the free 3d mark 05, and (and im not saying this is good, or should be done regular) u could get a serial key from somewhere to make the free version the pro version

once u do this tho, u cant post your scores on ORB

OK, Thanks for the input guys, I am going to download the free version of 3Dmark05.
Would looping it in default settings for 2-3 hrs be the right test?

Hmm... guess I am still learning here...anyone care to explain ORB? A quick search didn't clarify this?

online...results...bob? something like that....

ORB is where all the "real" pro 3dmark users post their scores (through the 3dmark program, they don't send in an email saying, i got 1million or something...) after they do the 3dmark test and then it is put up on this huge database...
it gets to the point it records your system and what clock speeds your card was at....its pretty cool
