stress test for vista

i am looking for a good stress test for vista prime 95 will not work.

Orthos is prime95 in disguise. I've also heard of something called CPUburn, or you might want to try LinPack. Be careful with LinPack, it kills Prime-stable computers.

Prime 95 works just fine in Vista.

You could use SP2004 Orthos as well, but there's no reason why P95 shouldn't work.
Make sure you're getting the x64 or x86 version of P95 (whichever your OS is).

Use Memtest86+ & HCI Memtest to verify RAM & NB stability.

Orthos/Prime95 does not work for me either, it just crashes pretty quickly even if the PC is stable with other stress test. Now I use OCCT 1hour test to get a quick idea if it's stable, and 24 hours of Folding@Home to make sure. IF your PC is not stable, F@H will find it.

If Orthos/Prime95 crashes look close at the memory. The system is not stable if it crashes period.

The system IS stable, but Orthos crashes within seconds. All other stress tests (OCCT, Everest) run fine for long periods of time, Folding@Home runs all the time. There's something about my system that Orthos doesn't like.

I am running Vista 64 and have no problems with Orthos (SP2004). I have used that program on several different XP and Vista systems with no problems...

You tried Memtest yet to be sure? I had some bad Corsair memory that didn't pop an error in Memtest until pass #14 and then every pass thereafter.

Thanks to all for the help,i was able to get prime 95 working.i was reading on the download page that it would not work with vista.
