Good game, I got it a long while back when it was still fairly new. Another Steam sale, I think it was $24.99 at that time and hadn't been out long on PC.

There were plenty of people to play against online, which was my main interest. Most of them, as you might expect, were extremely good, but there were also people like me that were SF2 vets and could pull off those moves and not too much else. Those were awesome matches. :)

Today though, I wonder how many people are still playing it...

Lol yes it does. I ended up making a custom arcade stick for this game.

I tried playing online again recently and by now everyone online is super good, so it's hard to get into if you're new.

they don't have any sort of ranking system so you don't get pwnd immediately?

I guess I'm okay at it cause I win about 40% of the time and I rarely play. Most of my sf skills are from super nintendo days.:)

The question I have is if this SF4 is the same as SF4 or SSF4 on the consoles?

That's what I thought... not worth the money for old stuff (especially since I own it for the 360).

And you are completely wrong. SFIV is much better on PC than Xbox 360, with huge emphasis on MUCH. The gfx are on a significantly higher level and the online play is FREE! That's FREE! FREE FREE! You just cant beat that.

Yes, a fightstick is a good idea, but it's not like you get it for free on the Xbox 360, and the default Xbox 360 game pad is horrible for fighting games. I actually wasted $150 on a Madkatz TE fightstick when it came out and I regret it because my friend rapes me every time with his Razer Keyboard. He is so damn good that he is able to chain combos, and perfectly execute moves when needed. (and no he is not cheating in any way) I been practicing with my fightstick like crazy, but there is no improvement whatsoever.

SFIV is very much worth it for $10 on PC and anyone who didnt get it, made a huge mistake. I got in on launch date at Gamestop at full price of $40 and I absolutely love it despite the fact that I later got the 360 just to play SSFIV. I still play SFIV on PC and I will keep playing it for a very long time to come.

Graphics being better and free multiplayer makes it much better? I think we have vastly different definitions of "better" :p. Why would I want to be stuck with the game that got replaced in less than a year with a "Super" variant? If I recall, Capcom isn't even going to release SSF4 on the PC.

No, pull out/buy a dreamcast and SF3:3S and play that instead.

Or play SF3 Third Strike in GGPO

But in all seriousness, I enjoyed SFIV on PC...but I hate playing against Sagat online. That just makes me want to smash my USB saturn controller into tiny bits.

I don't mind playing Sagat, but hate playing Blanka and Balrog.

I hate playing SFIV on PC, simply because I use an arcade stick and it feels like everyone else is using their keyboard. People are just so bad. I can literally use just roundhouse win most matches.

I hate playing SF4 on PC simply because the vast majority of people have really, really BAD computers. I can play like 3 laggy people in a row on PC, then go play SSF4 on Xbox360 and nobody lags at all.

I honestly feel that the SF4 match-making lobby should continually FPS test your computer and report that # with your ping. IE: I'm locked at 60 FPS / 23 ping, that's a good match up. Would make it easier to weed out the garbage.

I really hope SSF4 AE comes to PC. Because when the competition is fierce, the lag low, and the computers decent it is the best way to play an SF game outside of the arcade.

AE won't come to PC, just as Super didn't. They are way to worried about piracy.

I don't believe you, I'd be willing to bet AE comes to PC.

Capcom has a TON of games on PC, piracy was a bullshit excuse to buy them more time.
