wow, the talon is kaput beyond anything... jeez.
hope yer buddy is OK Adam... but hey, that's what happens when you do that. That's why I don't fck around at all on the streets.

Just found out this morning that he has walked away from this accident with 50 stiches in his head and that's it...

He will be getting his though - will be charged with street racing, DUI and a few other things... Hopefully he learns his lesson!

Lucky to be able to walk away from an accident like this.

Hey everyone... If you ever need a reason not to street race your car - this will be it... Last night at about 3:45am a buddy of mine was racing a Ford Probe and got himself into a car accident... At this point I'm not sure if he is okay, or what... I dont have an update from his family at this time...

There were two cars involved in this accident plus the truck. Eagle Talon and a Ford Probe. The Eagle Talon (his car) as you can see was demolished along with the truck. The Talon. When the Talon hit the truck, the truck was thrown about the length of a football field. The rear axle (which you can see to the left of the truck in the pics up against a flag pole) was found about 100 yards away from the truck. I know that these 2 cars must have been going pretty fast to throw a truck like this which was full of freight as far as it did.

I dont have any information on the other car, or pictures of it either... but here are some pictures of the accident sceen... Be warned - some of them are graphic...

Accident Pictures

Hopefully he's okay... Good kid - just a little stupid sometimes (like last night) Now - everyone else who thinks their car is king of the road - Take it to the damn track because this stuff DOES happen.

Edit : Just found out this morning that he has walked away from this accident with 50 stiches in his head and that's it...

Aye... that Eagle Talon was a wild machine... AWD Turbo and modified to the gills... it had a low 12 second 1/4 mile time... they are quick little cars...

I agree with you on the probe though... 😀

Street racing is for retards. By all means, go to a track, and race away, but not where others can get injured. I hope he's OK, if only so he can deal with the consequences :|

both those cars suck. The notion that they should be used for any kind of racing is quite a hoot.

The Talon TSI AWD is quite a performance car when tuned properly...

What makes that car any different then a Subaru STi ?

Lets just hope that the passenger survived as well. If you want to race and kill yourself, that's one thing, but to bring a passenger along...that's murder!

What are 2 young guys able to afford? Not a Ferrari Enzo. I've seen people race Tempos. Hey, if it's what you've got...

Regardless of how fast my car is, I still like to take it to the track, it's fun.

hehe.... street racing here in Houston is a BIG deal almost as much as it is in new york...
1000s of bucks on the line at any given time..
most of the cars are 8 second rides...
we got 2 1200 HP corvettes
a henesey viper pushing over 1300 hp
some old camaros with 500+ CI big blocks and slicks that run well into the 8s running around..
lots of REALLY fast supras and RX7s too..
forgot the 8 second Cobras and Stang GTs too...
still some really fast stangs around.

people act like it's soooooo terrible

It is a terrible thing, because it is dangerous for innocent bystanders. Take it to a track, or at least a deserted industrial park where you can only kill yourselves.

No offense but he deserves what he got for street raing in the first place. I don't feel sorry for either of them. But I hope whoever was in the truck is OK.

I have to agree.

And yet you're qualified to determine that both cars suck....

IMO, a 12-13 second car isn't slow and could keep up with quite a few of the amateurs at the track.
