ug. my friend uses ryu and does the jump hk to the crouch sweep combo. for some dumb reason i cant stop it.... im trying ken and zangief but he gets me all the time....


any tips.

There's plenty of ways. You can block to low block, do any special that can hit him, hit him with a HK or HP and it may have priority, jump out of the way, etc...

 
yeah i know the basic stuff but for some dumb ass reason i fail to block a lot. i dont know whats wrong. it should be so easy to stop. but i have brain farts.

It's alright. You'll get your timing down better with practice.

If you're zangief and he jumps at you, just hit PPP or KKK. Ryu is totally free for zangief, you don't even have to try. Just mash that lariat.

As for ken, just work on your srk motion. Blocking a jump in is pretty much not an option for me. Just have to have your mind focused on your game and train your muscle memory to shoryuken instantly any jump ins.

No, use PPP lariat. But start the lariat from the crouch position. Zangief will cleanly beat most jump in or at least trade if you do this. You come out ahead even if you trade hits as Zangief has the most life of any character.

If you start the PPP lariat while standing, you can still get hit in the head. KKK lariat is not recommended because KKK has startup invincibility at the legs, not the upper body. KKK lariat is more useful for when opponent is trying to sweep you. You'll recover faster to attack and the sweep should go through your legs if you time it correctly.
 
yeah i have been trying to use the ppp but it will either trade or his jump hk takes priority. i have not tried from the croching positions...



a sweep goes through kkk? interesting.. i will have to try some of these things.
 
against jump HK for Ryu, crouching punch lariat will either beat or trade but it's hard to time. It's much easier to do crouching MP just to be safe.

just finished converting a mas stick to work on ps3 and xbox360.

those things are tiny inside and not much room to work with.

i tried it on ps3 and xbox360 and i dunno, like my sf:ac stick better. the mas one is angled more and the 4 buttons in a row with no archs or anything was throwing me off.

i kept crouching when i didnt want to, and i think it had to do w/the angle of the mas.
 
i just want to re-iterate how sorry i feel for those of you who are stuck playing this on PSN only.

i have been playing on ps3 only yesterday and today and man, the network is such a joke. i'd say that 9/10 games have a noticeable lag in them, and that is IF i can even find a game.

i just now literally tried for 10 mintues to find a ranked game of the same or miore skilled and i couldn't, so i just created a room and finally people started coming in. however they were all of lesser skill and pretty easy victories, and i would get like 1bp. but then i lost cause of some horrendous lag and lost like 125bp lol.

not to mention, i tihnk in the past 2 days, all i've faced on psn is ryu, ken, akuma, and sagat. ok i faced 1 blanka and 1 honda, but probably about 50 or so of the others. maybe it's cause of the BP level of the people i'm facing now, because i do remember before I built my poitns up on xbox360 i kept facign a lot of those guys too.

online sucks for the psn on sf4. i create private rooms and we get disc all the time from each other. and it takes forever to get into a game. oh well.

i just play my friends.. 🙂 xbl ftw even though i havent play sf4 on it
 
I've been playing this primarily lately on the 360. Love it.... I've got 70% win in Ranked matches with Honda. Feel free to add me.
