One more question about voicechat.. I don't have a headset or anything. Does it play voice chat through normal sounds? Like even though I'm not participating in voicechat, am I still supposed to hear what the other person is saying? Every once in a while I'll hear something that might sound like voices, but I'm not entirely sure wtf it is or where in the game its supposed to be coming from..

That looks really stupid typed out, but I need to know if I'm hearing things or not.. 🙁

You can set it up to play through speakers only, headset only, or both. I think the 360 defaults to both. So you'll be able to hear it via headset or otherwise, so you're not going crazy (hopefully).
 
well great, I just got a text from the gf.. she got off early and is at home playing and is apparently kicking ass all over the online.

Now my girlfriend is better than me at street fighter. Here's my man-card, which way to I go for the castration 🙁

Sorry, I'll stop shitting up the thread with my whining about how much i suck. I realize that it's not at all entertaining/interesting to anyone anywhere, I've just been having a rough day today.

 
finally finally got my hands on a copy for PS3! I found 1 copy of Collector's Edition at a Gamestop about 1/2 hour from my house...woohoo!

If she can pick up a fairly difficult game and do well that quickly she sounds like a keeper, pending AT physical approval of course... but that's for another thread.

Is there some like code of conduct for how to fight with certain players or something, because I've been bitched at a few times after winning with Seth. I bounce off the walls quite a bit combined with teleport to really screw with people's orientation. I got a couple messages saying things like 'learn to fight on the ground' and bull shit like that. I figure it's pretty easy to counter how I fight and it's their own damned fault they couldn't keep up.
 
I just hit 2702. WTF? Why can't I find any high level bp people? I'm fighting all these people with like <1000 points.

I have ~1000 BP and I've routinely played 2000+ BP people (along with lots of <1000BP unfortunately). I just play on arcade mode with fight request on with "stability" as a priority.
 
How do I do Medium Kick then light yoga flame combo with Dhalsim? It's challenge 3 -1 normal, I've been trying it forever and can't get them close enough together to be a combo.

Hold back to do a short mk. Then quickly go back to forward and do the half circle back. You have to do it pretty fast, but make sure you do the entire motion.

This is my problem and I don't understand. This is the main reason I dropped so low I think because I was at 1,200 but all my fights would be with people that have like 3-500 and sometimes even zero. Everytime I lose I lose waaay more than I ever win. Some of these people aren't bad for having low bp they just got the game.

I lost to a guy yesterday with 200 freaking bp that did a pretty big fadc ultra combo on me. When we got to the BP screen I was like LOL WHUT?
 
Was there a demo of this available on XBL? I swear I thought there was prior to the game coming out. Couldnt find anything online for it last night though. Wanted to try it out before buying.
 
Where can I get the PS3 collector's edition? No one online seems to be selling it and no local store has it. Amazon had it for $80 but it promptly disappeared a day or two before it was to be available.

Before refreshing a list of players. Change to "stability" option to either "same skill" or "more skilled." That way you'll fight people with higher win/loss ratio.
 
I'm finding that the new trend in this game is that when i get knocked down, the other guy jumps back and forth over me making it tough to do an attack because you don't know which side they will be on. Therefore, can't really start any moves. Hmm, any suggestions?

Heheh.. one of my favorite moves! I usually jumpkick just as they are about to get up and do an EX-hurricane kick hitting their back with Ken. I then follow that up with a flaming shoryuken. If they are doing this right next to you, then I would suggest a throw. If not then I suggest buffering one of your specials move and hope it comes out when you get up.

With Ken for example, I mash the buttons for both ways continuously if they are jumping over me while I am down. 90% of the time, I connect with a move.
 
I'm just loving this game.. I beat a freaking 3500 BP Sagat with Ken! Its cool that even relative newbies can luck one in against the pros every now and then.
 
Battle Points don't mean a thing! I've gone against players with 4000BP and rocked their chins - I'm only 1700BP.
 
I"m surprised there's nobody nto that many people on for the ps3 on a saturday night. Boy do I suck with the pad. the Lag doesn't help either. It totally throws me and I'm like WTF just happen. Oh I'm dead.
 
Is anyone else having connection problems when playing a friend online? I have a friend that I invite to play in a private match and we freakin' keep getting disconnected. :| It is so bad, I don't even feel like playing anymore. On my 360, I don't think I've ever lost a connection unless a player purposely drops.
