Streaming service for a 1080p HDTV?

I'm currently subscribed to Netflix but I"m thinking of jumping ship to Vudu or another service.

Mainly it will be for watching on a 1080p 3d Plasma screen, so PQ is of upmost importance. also 3d titles I would like.

Preliminary tests with a PS3 makes me think vudu might be better. Netflix has a great deal and so on, but it appears that most HD content is 720p, and not 1080p, and there is no 3d content. The Netflix copy of Star Trek I watched the other day had noticeable MPEG artifacts.

So, thoughts on Vudu and other Netflix alternatives? Is there a good streaming or digital service that does 3d?

I wouldn't get too hung up on 720p vs 1080p when we're discussing streaming services. Remember here that the stream for some of the best of these services is something like 3-4 megabits. A blu-ray movie is encoded at over 40 if I remember correctly.

What I'm sating here is that when it comes to quality of the video and audio, the only difference between 720p and a 1080p would be the resolution of the viewed image. When it comes to the actual quality of the stream, there is no real difference because of the massive amount of compression typically required because of a general lack of bandwidth for the overwhelming percentage of customers.

If you want the best picture and audio quality, Blu-ray is your only choice. There is no substitute.

Streaming services are for convenience, not quality.
