Streaming Netflix movies through a proxy server

Anyone had any experience with this?

My work has free wifi and recently blocked traffic such that Netflix movies don't stream. Would using a proxy server be a s.olution? Yes I have a Netflix account.

They even block searches for proxy information! Help me stick it to the man

They do this for a reason! Streaming movies eats bandwidth. Sidestepping their efforts to stop this activity is not a good idea IMO. It's probably not a good idea to post about it as well.

Chances are if proxy searches are blocked then using a proxy is going to be blocked as well. Even if you succeed you will likely degrade the performance of the connection for others.

I'm an independent contractor working 24 hour shifts - so not an employee of the workplace. I have lots of downtime between working...just sucks that it used to be available.

More time on ATOT I guess.

You should spend your time at work doing your job. They block sites for a reason, and WILL eventually catch you. At my job, all sites to find proxies are blocked, porn is blocked, youtube is blocked - People that surf all day at work are the reason this economy is in the shape it's in now and will soon be eliminated by more and more companies. If you have time to surf and especially time to watch a movie on company time, you are abusing that company and costing them too much. If you are working a job that you have long periods of down time, then you should bring a laptop with a wireless adapter for your cell phone and not abuse the company's bandwidth and then you wouldn't need a proxy.
