Streaming FM Tuner Card over the web

Hey all.. new member here so be gentle!

There is a local radio station here in town that I loe to listen to their morning show. However, since my job location has changed, I can no longer get their radio signal. In fact, I get zero radio reception down in this area. Unfortuantely, the station doesn't broadcast over the web either.

So.. what I wanted to do is purchase a FM Tuner card for my PC and have it stream that radio station over the web so that I could tune into it. Is there such a process available? I know that I can record the stream and more than likely encode it to MP3.. but I don't really have any other time during the day to listen to it besides sitting at my desk. Is there anyway that this could be done? Thanks in advance!

*Also.. not even sure if this is the right forum or not. There may be different hardware out there that allows to stream over the web. Just move if it's not right. Sorry.

It would be cool if people would re-broadcast their favorite stations over the web. Finally we would have some variety... Must be doable, I'm curious...

Don't need anything special.

If your home computer is on (as it would have to be to use a fancy card) then just plug in a radio to the line-in.
Get winamp.
Get the shoutcast plugin.
Set up a server.

Boom, done. Turn to your IP. I'm terrible about reading directions and still only took me 20 minutes to set up, been running a server for my own use and friends, hasn't been invaded by others. Just don't make it a public broadcast and you'll have a A) Free B) Stable C) Easy streaming server for the station you love.

I have a Haupauge TV/FM tuner card that works great for local FM. All you need is an antenna which is supplied. Real easy to set up. Works and sounds great. Of course if you get lousy reception in that area then your out of luck with my kind of setup. Over the web sounds doable as others have mentioned though.
