No forum for this topic so I will put here:

I have a question about how much bandwidth is needed to stream audio. Let's say I by 2k server and want to stream only audio, no video, to users through windows media services. If I have a 960k of bandwidth, how many users at one time can I stream to? Also any links that talk about this would be appreciated (nothing from about.com though).
If I went with a t1 how many users could that support? Thank's

I believe it goes something like:

#Users = Bandwidth / Sample rate (i.e. 112, 128Kbps)

If you use 64Kbps bitrate streams, you can theoretically serve up to 15 people, but that's assuming the full 960Kbps will be consistent. I'd say max of 13 give or take, because overhead and sudden congestion can mess things up.
