Invited to a friends house. No cable, hell, he's out in the boonies enough that there's only one fuzzy OTA channel he can get. Must . . . see . . . game. What are my options?

You should invest in a Slingbox. Set it up at home, and have your Philly channels everywhere that you go (as long as they have internet, or you can buy one of the clients for iphone/android).

If not, there are websites out there that list streams. Not sure if its against the rules to post them.

If you "MUST" see the game, why don't you and your friend(s) go to a bar or a place that you can see the game. After the game, go to his house. If he lives in the boonies, not sure he has broadband net or not.

You are welcome. :)

best streaming site out there.

it's best to just click "other" when you see the streams list, and try to find one in the thread that's browser based rather than downloading sopcast etc.

If only it were that easy! My friend who organized this is brilliant but headstrong. She works for Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory and has a house in Berkley, so you might think she'd be a Giants fan, but she's not, she's a Phillies fan.

She actually has a house here as well (rented out) and is planning to move back here "permanently" at the end of the year. I put permanently in quotes because she can never decide which coast she wants to live on for long, ever.

My boonie based friends where we'll be going are not going to want to leave their kids and decamp from their verdant piece of heaven to go to one of the local-to-them hick/biker bars to watch a game they don't really care that much about.

Women complicate everything! o_O

Anyway, thanks everyone for the tips. Thanks to this thread plus the awesome power of personal messaging, I've got some links to try. Trouble is, in the past they've always been hit or miss for me to actually get and keep working. Sigh.

if you can find someone who can provide a private stream, it would be alot more reliable.

Yes, yes it would.
