Strategy Guides for a Penny at Best Buy! - Updated with New Titles 3/30

I just came from Best Buy and picked up a bunch of strategy guides for a penny each. This was at the Baton Rouge location, so YMMV, but it's worth looking into. Other people have reported finding other guides in their local Best Buy. Not all Best Buys have these guides for a penny, but if it's not marked on the book and it's in this list, bring it to a cashier to scan and check the price.

While you can go to Gamefaqs and get a lot of helpful info, for a penny a book, I don't think this is a bad deal at all!
So, for less than the cost of a can of Coke, you can cheat to your heart's content! Enjoy!

My wife loves this game. I should buy it for her. But I won't dare say how much it cost. How much was tax on that?

Akahai, they were all marked with that price. The funny thing was that the Civ III had 9 strategy guides for 9.99, but someone had hidden a .01 in the back. They all had the same closeout SKU on them, so I'd say try them all. The worst that can happen is that they ring up at regular price.

Maybe you could use the 10% coupon to get these for .009 cents each

Odoe, I bought a CD and a CD burner too, so I couldn't calculate the tax of the guides directly on the reciept, but I'm pretty sure you'd get change back from a dime if you bought 8!

Bummie, I don't think so. I think each BB is trying to clear out old guide books. Newer guide books like Zelda and Splinter Cell are full price.

Optimistic - I can confirm that the Best Buy in Westwood Ca. has many of these for $0.01 (although they are not marked at that price.)
