Old but excellent, in 2D: Jagged Alliance 2 (also the Urban Chaos free total conversion mod)

Slightly newer, not as good, in 2D: Fallout Tactics

3D eye candy, ragdoll physics, good but not as good as JA2: Silent Storm

i've enjoyed dozens of multiplayer Dawn of War games. Single player is decent if you like Space Marines but short

Rome Total War was great but I lost interest before completing the three campaigns i've attempted

meh, i see the point but I never did get into it. Played Wc3 a lot though - 500 multiplayer games played. Don't do that anymore though

Dawn of War: Winter Assault.

Introducing the Imperial Guard as a playable race alongside the Baneblade tank apparently.

Looks like the best looking RTS is getting a slight facelift too. Screenies of Winter Assault look better than DoW.

I have played RON before and enjoyed it. I was thinking of getting the orig + expansion. I own RTW, was thinking of trying the SPQR mod for it.

WC3 by itself blows, but there is a very busy mod community with excellent mods out there.

I don't know why people are obsessed with Starcraft

You must play with the Rome: Total Realism mod. Makes the game 10x better (and it was already great)
