Watched the first episode last night...it got me hooked.

Was weird seeing my childhood crush playing a mommy. Probably binge the rest tonight after a jay or 2.

definitely got that 80's feel/Spielberg vibe/super 8'ish feel. Ticked all the right boxes for me.

i've seen the first episode; it looks REALLY well made, but also looks like it will skimp on the story.

This. I remarked right after the first episode ended that it felt like an Amazing Stories/Super 8 kind of hybrid. Excited to watch the rest.

So what's it about? It seems like a cross bread of Close Encounters and the show Under The Dome or something. Toss in The Abyss? LOL I say that because of kid in a water space suit scene.

While it shares many of the themes as those I posted above, the story itself is has a loose plot similar to a few King books, but to give what it is about would give away quite a bit.

It's about a kid who goes missing, a kid with powers, Big Government, and monsters.

They have these futuristic communications devices that they use. Very futuristic.

Thanks. That does sound interesting.

First episode looked pretty good. Good enough to keep watching anyway.

I never understood the attraction of Winona Ryder...decent enough actress...but not that good looking.

The acting from the kids is a little uneven, but it definitely feels like something Spielberg would have done in the 80s. Its well done, although the story seems like this season could be half as long. Anyways, good to see Winona Ryder again. And 11 reminds me of a kid version of Elizabeth Perkins.

I must admit. The only movies I seen Winona Ryder in were Alien Resurrection, Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands. I should see Little Woman. Winona Ryder is to Mayne as Kirsten Dunst is to John Connor. I have several of her autographs. ^_^

I nearly fainted when I seen this pic in Maxim back in circa 2000. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/dN4ejvjzAlk/hqdefault.jpg

Up to episode 6, the smaller kids are pretty annoying. The older kids are typical. The Sheriff is relentless but
never would have made it into the super secret lab.

Matthew Modine with blonde hair playing the evil scientist is great.

The bald girl is the least annoying kid.

Basically a send up of all the 80's scifi films.

On the last episode after binge watching all day, really, one of the better programs I have watched in some time. Compelling, great story, suspenseful, good acting... 10/10

There were a bunch of tv/movie cliches that annoyed me (ie it suffered major Sons of Anarchy Syndrome), but it was entertaining enough to make me binge watch it. Also, this would never have worked if they had used the current decade.

I was confused as to why
they didn't kill the sheriff, but rather drugged him and deposited him at his trailer, they didn't seem to have an issue killing or trying to kill everyone else
