Looks like Billy is only 22 IRL (23 this month) but I agree, he looks older than that.

I'm only a few episodes in. My youngest likes to watch it with me but coordinating our schedules is tough.

Billy the step brother seems way too old to be in school. I expected him to be like 30 or something. I mean I know the actor is probably around 30, but I thought the character was that age too.
I agree, he looked way too old for his character. To me he looks like a slightly younger Colin Farrell with eye makeup.

Aside from that, absolutely loved season 2! Didn't think they could live up to season 1, but they did a really good job.

Excellent, just awesome season. Much better than S1 IMO.

The horror is still there, but not as morbid as S1. The music/soundtrack use is just phenomenal. Those guys did really well as overall music score helps a lot.

All of the new characters work out well. I was sorry to
see one of them eaten up

Chef Hopper, Bob Newby, Eleven and Dr. Owens are best this season for me. Truly hope to see season 3.

Spoiler empty....

Just started the first episode of S2 and looking forward to more. Weather's crap this weekend so it appears I might have to binge on S2 this weekend! Looking forward to it based on some of these posts!

Season two was so good, and I like the direction they took with it. A bunch of my friends are on a certain episode ( 🙁 ) so we'll see how they react to that.

Bob was great. Honestly I thought he was going to turn out to be a bad guy, like a mole into the family or something, because he's a big-name actor, but I really liked where they took his character.

We were cracking up at the part where he's telling Joyce how to connect the camcorder to the TV over the phone...similar scenarios have happened many, many times with my relatives 😀

I'm curious about where they're going to take his character. I really thought they were going to kill him off because he's such a jerk, but they kept adding layers to him & Mad Max. Like how he blames Max for their situation, or how his dad is violently abusive against him. Which was a big red flag for when he fought Steve because he knows how to take a beating! Then they threw in that bit with the mom at the end, haha. So I'm curious if he's going to play a role in the future because he was featured so prominently in S2.

I was surprised to see Kai Greene in ST2, didn't know he acted! I knew I recognized that dreadlock! 😀 "Funshine", rofl. I was kind of hoping he would hulk out in a fight scene...that dude is a monster:

Yeah, I also thought he was going to be a mole for Hawkins lab, but I'm pleased that the show stuck with the straight archetypes for their characters (typical 80s adventure romp) and eschewed the more contemporary "everyone is someone else!" nonsense that has really become quite exhausting.

Finished season 2 last night. This season was pretty MEH overall. They completely tried way too hard this season and just make everything "bigger and badder" and IMO it was just so predictable and cliche. It was also clear that Dustin was the fan favorite last season, and they completely pandered this entire season towards him to make him the focus and give him all of these stupid lines trying to make him funny which got old very quickly. This was solidified at the very end when the last 10-15 minutes of the season focused on the stupid highschool dance and how he changed his hair and how he couldn't get someone to dance with him.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I didn't think season 1 was the greatest show ever like a lot of people did and thought it was a bit overrated, but this season wasn't as good.

I had no problem with El finding her mom. It's just that finding her mom was a stop in the road to finding Eight, which really didn't do anything for El. I mean... it challenged El to be lenient toward one of her captors, but you normally do something like that with a character that had gone through an arc that specifically related to that culmination. El's previous actions in the season had nothing to do with that. I assume it was a quick and dirty way to show El maturing or whatever.
Literally the only reason she went to find her mom was so she could come back and save the day for the whole gang. It was so obvious that was going to happen once she left her sister and was headed back. And then they had the whole stupid daddy/daughter drama with El and Hopper after their cliche fight. And who didn't know Bob was going to die in some stupid fashion after saving the day?

The whole season was just so predictable and full of cliches.

EDIT:

And what was up with the stupid scene where the brother is looking for Max and goes to Mike's house where the mom is taking a bath reading a Fabio book, and it almost turns into a porn? What was the point of that scene? That scene was terrible and felt so out of place and just completely unnecessary.

Episode 7 seemed like a mini pilot to spin off 8's character. I don't think it worked

11 is starting to get boring with her powers and turning into a cliche X-woman.
El was interesting when she would use her powers every now and then and you'd see the blood coming out of her nostril. Now I feel like she just used her power whenever she wanted to, wiped the blood away, then used it once again back to back. The one scene she saves the day, I just wish someone would give her a damn tissue. She was walking around the cabin with a bloody nostril for like 5 minutes.

I was wondering if they were going to do anything with that, or if it was just meant to be a goofy scene. I guess they kind of teased at it for a while with how utterly useless the dad is. "Hey, honey! Where are our kids?" 😛

I think all those 'dumb' moments are building off 80's movies tropes on purpose. Added to the fun for me, but I could see how it would be annoying.

Just finished the season. Liked it better than the 1st. But i have a question maybe you nerds can help me with.
In episode 6 when they went to the junk yard with the bus they fortified etc. What movie was that initial scene from when they first came into the yard and then the other kids came down the hill to join them. Before they started fortifying it etc. I could have sworn i've seen that scene from another movie which Stranger Things loves to do.

Any help? Just me?..am i imaging a movie i cant remember from the 80's lol

I think you're just not a fan of Stranger Things. Did you like The Goonies?

I mean I flat out said I wasn't the biggest fan of season 2 and that I liked season 1 but didn't think it was as good as everyone made it out to be, so I'm not even sure what your point is.

That you're probably not a fan of the type of show that ST is. Stuff like the dance and the lines the kid characters say is very much what Stranger Things is about. That was why I asked if you liked The Goonies.

Okay if you say so Mister Stranger Things...

I recognized it too, and from fairly recently..was it from last season or was it from IT?
