There's a place here in Itasca, IL where I"m in training that sells liquor. Not sure of the store name but on the side of the building facing the main road, in huge letters, is their lighted sign that says:

LIQUORS WINE BEERS

Oh, and there's a dentist in town by the name of Doctor Semin. And yes, it IS pronounced how you think. He doesn't have nearly as good of a sense of humor as you'd think.

Kinda related, there is a shopping center that has a Dick's, BJ's, and Seamens in Mays Landing, NJ.

Consumer Square -- This power center is located adjacent to Hamilton Mall. It houses Best Buy, Kohl's, BJ's, Border's Books, Dicks, Seaman's, Staples, Home Place, Target, Petsmart and various specialty shops.

Not a name thing but there is a line of business in this order when driving by...

Funeral home > Nursery (plants and such) > Butcher/meat packing > Self Storage...

Might just be funny in my head though.

ah, it feels like reading old issues of national lampoon's magazine.. they have a section on funny signs.

I swear this is true:

When I first moved into my apartment here 7 years ago there was a nearby store called Sid's Baby Furniture.

Beecher, Illinois has Beecher Meats and Beecher Tool and Die.

Indiana has a town down near Bloomington called Beaver Lick. Gotta be some good stores there...... Near Beaver Lick is Floyds Knob....

You win.

I'll have to start paying attention to business names around here and post them. I've noticed a few funny ones, but don't remember the names.

I once went to Nashville on a school trip like 14 years ago. There was a doughnut shop that had its sign on the roof in sparkly letters, like the type you'd see at a used car lot.

They spelled "D O G H N U T S" out on the roof. Some kids must have climbed up and stolen the 'H'. Unbelievably, I was the only one on the tour bus that saw it. 😀
