Strange Win2000 booting problem

I have a windows 2000 server (small business) that will not boot at all. It freezes up the second you hit the <enter> key on the boot menu, no matter which option (or parition) you choose. I have tried a whole bunch of boot.ini changes via the recovery console, to no avail. F8 options in the boot menu also do not show anything at all, it simply stops immediatly after choosing your boot option...

I have access to the recovery console, so any suggestions would be most appreciated. Trying the install-CD repairs always tells me there is a syntax error on line 5 and I have to exit. I am leaving out some other thigns I have tried, but any help would be appreciated...

Never mind, was able to boot it. Had to format a floppy in win2000 professional and copy the ntldr and ntdetect files over along with the boot.ini from the troublesome server. Of course after booting I found out filesystem was screwed, but it was a moral victory...
