Strange video problem

Since I got my BFG 6800GT, sometimes when I try to play a video (usually it seems to be AVI's that trigger it), the screen messes up and the video will not play correctly. It will get stuck on about a 2 second loop and play it over and over again.

I'm using the 71.84 drivers, can anyone help me correct this issue?

Does your system still run, or is it looping because it crashed?
If I can get out of it it will go right back to normal. Usually I accomplish this by opening a game like Warcraft 3 or something. But sometimes I can't navigate the mouse in the artifacts and messed up desktop. My screen size is usually 1280x1024, and when I get this error, it seems to show the upper left quarter of the screen in 64x480 or something. So it's hard to navigate.

So that being said, it doesn't crash. Could this be a PSU issue? My PSU is only 350w.
