Strange ram problem...

So... window xp was loading as usual... then a bsod pops out right after I get into windows. It kept on happening until switch my ram from the first slot to the second one. Why does this happen? I'm very confuse. Is it a ram problem or is it my motherboard?

pc 2100 ddr ram from kingston. I think it's refurbish... those damn b!tches riped me off!
