Strange Ram Problem

Well I recently upgraded from a 512mb pdp +xbl stick to 2 1gb ocz pc-4000 gold sticks. I changed out the sticks, reloaded the cmos, hit f1 to boot normally. Now if I try to shut down and restart, the computer hangs up the black screen (the one right before the windows screen) then it beeps once, and goes back to the nforce 4 lan party screen. I think this is a really strange problem, any ideas? Thank you all !

You reloaded the cmos - do you mean you reset it ?

If so, did you redo all your BIOS settings ? Otherwise they probably got wiped on the reset.

I have the default bios settings, because I never really messed with that. But shouldn't the default make the computer boot up? My mobo says cmos reloaded, but we're talking about the same thing. Anyway, what about the problem?

Ok I increased that. Then it goes to the next screen, (a black one, and it says cmos ok!) then it goes black, and nothing happens, when it should go to the windows screen after that. This really doesen't make any sense to me, why will it only boot when the cmos is reset?

This doesen't make any sense. I went to this site to flash the bios, and that didn't work either.
Has anyone ever heard of this? Should I totally strip my computer and then rebuild it? Anything? I don't think it's a ram problem, since it does work at times, but it seems to be a BIOS problem?

Please can anyone help me? I've also posted this on dfistreet. And I haven't gotten any help their, either. I even tried to boot into safe mode, beause the manual says if it gets hung up to try that, that didn't work, either.
