Strange problem with ClearType

I just reformatted my computer and noticed that cleartype is causing a weird yellow edge on letters that are very close together. Anyone know what's wrong?

Actually, my problem seemed to start after I installed the ClearType tuner program. I restored to a system restore point from right before I installed the program and now everything is fine again.
