Hi,

I read in another Thread here today, that you have to plug the blue connector of the clable into the motherboard, otherwise it can't detect the ata100 mode.

Since I have a HD and a cable that should work in ata100, but don't, I decided to look if I had the blue end plugged into the mobo.
It was not, so replugged the clable, so that the blue end was in the motherboard.

Now my problem is, that in this state, my PC does't boot.
If I press the powerswitch, all fans and drives speed up, but I get no picture and nothing else happens.
If I plug the cable in the way I had it before, everything works.

I was wondering what could cause this, since I am obviously using the cable in the right way now.

You have the blue end going to the right connector but I bet you have it attached backwards. Most mobos do exactly what you described when one end is connected the wrong way.

hmm, the ata100 cables I've used can only be connected one way as two elevations on the cable end prevent incorrect connection!
