strange problem at system boot

I just put together a system with some older parts -- Asus A7N266 VM/AA, Athlon T-bird 1333, generic DDR333. Installed XP Home just fine, but the very next time I started the computer up, it would automatically take me into the bios (without me pressing Delete key) and display a message:

'The system case or cover has been opened or removed. Please check the system.'

The case is on, I mean I'm looking right at it 🙂 Why is it giving me this message? If I restart or just exit the bios, it just takes me right back in. So, I can't even get to the point where XP would load.

Anyone encounter anything like this?

Read the manual. I believe there is a jumper on the board that connects to a case switch if the case has one. I think putting a jumper on these pins will make the message go away.
