Ok..I have one computer that is Win2k Server that is connected to my cable modem. On that box I am running Sygate to share my internet connection. My other machine is a Win2k Pro. They are connected with a 10/100 hub.
Now here is the situation. I want to play Links2001 over the net with my father with me hosting a game. I have Sygate setup to pass all the port info for Links to my machine. He can never connect to my game.
I get his IP address and attempt to ping him. The ping request keeps timing out. I can ping all other sites with no problem. I can play Nascar 4 and all other games online with no problem.
How come I can't ping him. If I run a TRACERT to his IP, it will always timeout right before his box. Also, if I ping him from my Win2k Server machine with Sygate, I can ping him fine. Do you think his ISP is blocking something? I can't figure it out. Just so you know, it has worked before, but very rarely does it work. There are a few times when I can ping his machine, and when I can, the game works fine. I also just reinstall Win2k Pro last week and we are still having this problem.
TIA
