Strange performance issues with a high end system

Hello guys,

I have a problem with my new system: I think that the furnished achievement is not good enough for this configuration. I had recently a very bad system and don't know what i can expect from the new system.

As you see, much is not the matter, the FPS sinks however strongly on the screen. This is just an example screenshot, i could post hundreds of them. How the FPS looks then in large battles, you can probably imagine that (down up to 15 FPS...)

In HL2 helped it likewise in parts to strong fluctuations of the FPS, all in front if many opponents is there and everyone shoots (also in wide areas), as soon as peace is, is it again to the 100.

I can register this strange break-downs also in other games like: DoD: SOURCE, Civ4...

Even without AA and AF. The bench mark values are all together correct (so far I can judge, results see signature). I thought that "Cool one and Quiet" cause the CPU to clock down, which is however not so, the feature is in the BIOS deactivated.

Pics from CPU-Z:

3DMark Compare Link, you can see there also drivers: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1526243

I hope anyone of you can help me, i just don't know what to do. If you any questions, ask me.

best regards

Well, I just now saw the pics, and your PC is definitely topend. Make sure you don't have spyware first, so look at the task manager when you don't have any programs running, and tell me what your CPU utilization is as well as the number of running processes. Also, download the latest release (not beta) drivers for the video and sound cards. Then, if you are still having problems, let me know.

Hello,

thanks for your reply.

I heard that the DoW engine became "slow" since the Winter Assault addon. I also read that Civ4 gets slow on every comp when there are a lot of cities.
Some guys in another forums told me that the performance is very well for my comp.

I got in Valve Stress Test 157FPS.

Latest drivers are installed. No spyware. CPU utilization 0% when browser and winamp turned on. Running processes 33 (i got few tools running thats because it is so "high").

Well, if others say that the performance is normal for those games, which I have no idea about, then trust them. There probably isn't any way to boost performance by much, except by overclocking. And I just now looked at your sig. Running hard drives in parallel mode (with masters and slaves) is a good way to slow them down, so if there is any way to have at least one by itself with your OS and games on it, that would certainly help.
