Strange noise

When the engine is on, there's a muted screeching noise that can be heard when the wheel is turned and is at or near either lock (all the way left or right). Under acceleration, the noise can happen slightly further away from lock.

Haven't done extensive testing yet, but does anybody know what might be wrong?

It definitely sounds like a power steering issue. LTK is correct about the fluid and belt, check the fluid first. In my (limited) experience I've had more noises come from low power steering fluid on older cars than anything else. If that doesn't solve it haave someone crank the wheel as you listen under the hood.
