Okay, so as was covered in another thread in another forum... I had been trying some coarsair memory, various settings... multiple reboots/hangs etc. for about 3 hours today just to see if I COULD get it to operate at ALL let alone stable at the settings it claimed. Ultimately, I decided the ram is most likely defective, so I RMA'd it. Here is where the weirdness begins.
Since the afore mentioned ram swapping, when I press delete to enter the bios, it hangs for a moment and the monitor says "no signal" then it loads. Previously when starting the computer, it would say No Signal until the vid card decided to Init, then it would be fine.(as usual on all comps) Well, now i get the No Signal, then the computer posts, then it says "no signal" then the windows loading screen, then "no signal" then the login screen. After this it is fine unless I start a game that takes a second to load(like BF2... and even then it seems to take a lil while to load).
I've since flashed the bios on my Epox motherboard, cleared the CMOS, tried multiple different settings, reseated the ram, and re-seated the AGP video card. I've also unplugged the monitor from the computer and then plugged it back in. I don't have an analog cable to see if it works better, i'm using DVI currently. Anyone have any ideas? I don't know what could have changed other than testing the new ram then putting the old back in.
Thanks,
Korp
