I recently moved, and upon setting up my LAN again, I am encountering a strange problem. I have 5 pc's - 1 Linux router (using Freesco), and the rest are behind the router and connected via an 8-port switch.
Before I moved, everything was working fine throughout the LAN. Now, after the move, everything is working on all machines except my primary one. From my main machine (Windows 2000 SP2), I am no longer able to ftp out, nor am I able to play Counterstrike online. I've also noticed that this box does not see all of the other machines on the network (in Network Neighborhood), only 3 of 5 (including itself).
My first thought was that the router/firewall was blocking outgoing traffic, but that's really not viable, as that's not the way the firewall works (allows all outbound traffic), and nothing's been changed on it since before the move. With the ftp, reguardless of the client (including command line), it errors out immediately with the error:
<< > ftp: connect :Connection refused >>
It doesn't even appear to attempt to make the connection, it just knows it can't.
As for CS, the game is simply unable to make a connection to any server - it just keeps retrying.
All other outbound traffic is working per normal.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? It's starting to really annoy me, and I don't feel like reinstalling windows. I've attempted to remove the device and all the protocols and reinstall, but that didn't do the trick.
Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
