Strange laptop problem

Hey, i have a toshiba m60 183 notebook, and for some reason it wont turn on. When the battery is in, and i press the power button, the laptop on light comes on briefly, then the laptop goes dead. Now, if i plug the ac adapter in, the wall socket light does not turn on, and when i press the power button it does nothing at all. So when its just the battery, it does something, but still does not boot. And with ac, it does absolutly nothing. I am stumped. Anyone have any idea whats going on? Sorry for no paragraphs, on phone. Thanks, Ryan.

Take the battery out and then plug it into the wall. Still nothing, then my bet is on a fried motherboard.

It seems to be a bit erratic. Randomly now and then it will work. Then i quickly plug in the ac and the light comes on. Sigh.

When you plug in the ac adapter, does it feel kinda loose? If so you may have a broken ac jack.

I second the broken ac jack. If you can hold your ac cord at an angle and you see the status light come on indicating that it's getting a charge then yes, for sure, it is the ac jack.
