I've only had this happen a couple of times, I try to do something on my computer and it won't let me do anything, try to open firefox it says it's not a valid win32 application, try to open the task manager says it failed to initialize. So I log off and log back on and then everything is working fine.

I would suspect it's possibly ram but I ran memtest earlier when I built the machine and I did not see any problems.

I'm not sure about last time but this time I had left a game running that was taking up almost all of my cpu for a long time when it happened. Not sure if that has anything to do with it I'm pretty sure I'm not infected with anything but I'll try out these programs.

A malware infestation or faulty RAM sounds like the most likely culprits. A memtest86 run and the link robisbell recommended sound like a good place to start.
