But only when using an SLI capable motherboard, which the bridge should come with.

That is the port of doom. Connecting it to another card of the same make and model will result in your computer overheating, your widescreen display distorting and your second monitor to stop working. :D

You can ignore it unless you have a SLI motherboard and a second identical card to put in it.

If your gonna SLI 6800GT/Ultra cards, you need an expensive SLi motherboard, A powerfull PSU(anandtech reccomends 500+ watts) and another identical card.

In the end, it will not exactly double your performance but give you around 40-50% performance boost at stuff like 1600x 4aa/8af.

For smaller resolutions, it isnt worth it right now.

If you have the cash, go for it.

For people on a budget who just want playable framerates, single cards get the job done with excellent performance.

if u really want high fps a 6800U or X850XTPE should do the job well....go for SLI unless u really have spare cash to drop
