Strange icons in Win98 apps

Since I have installed my new Hercules Geforce 2 MX some icons in windows apps. look very strange.
The START icon often changes color and is unreadable so are the CLOSE / MINIMISE icons in the upper right.
I have installed the new 6.27 Detonator drivers.
Can anyone tell me what to do about this ?

Did you correctly remove all traces of your previous video card?

Yep I did.
I even tried with reinstalling Windows 98 SE but it stays the same.
