OK, heres the deal, one of my computer illiterate friends is calling me with a problem he has a tough time explaining, I just loaded WinXP on his computer (500Mhz frankenstien with cable modem provided by Comcast in Michigan) .

When he is surfing the net, he claims that secondary windows (ones for products or online forms or other things) open but are blank white, no message...nothing.
Also when he clicks links from within Outlook (links imbedded in mail) nothing happens, no new explorer window...nothing. I have had him try to download the newest explorer but no deal, same thing and please do not suggest another browser.

Please shoot me some ideas to try, he of course thinks I should come over and re-install WinXP for him because it worked for a while.

because IE is built into the OS, its actually an XP problem. reformat and reinstall.
