that was different...

I posted a reply to the OT thread about 'pictures of the new P4'.... I just got this email:

The thread entitled: Intel Pentium 4 Box Pics , has been moved.

You can now view it at: http://forums.anandtech.com/categories.cfm?catid=28

To cancel these subscription updates, go to any thread, and click the Subscribe icon. You will see a list of the threads to which you have subscribed. You can uncheck any or all of them.

What was strange is that I'm not subscribed to this thread

and

I've never seen this type of email before.

and

Who has the power to move a thread (the mod?)

***************

yea... maybe this belongs in Forum issues, but maybe it's just me asking some silly questions

IBhacknU,

When a thread that you've posted in has been moved, you are notified by email. I don't think you have to be subscribed to the thread.

The URL is weird though, doesn't that just point to a forum category (hence the "categories.cfm?catid=28" and no threadid, etc)?

I've gotten similar emails when a thread I posted in (but did not subscribe to) was moved.
