I have a DoubleSight DS-263N which I got a couple weeks ago and it's been great up til now. I hooked it up to my Geforce which has 2 outputs. I was able to successfully run in dual-head mode with my old CRT for 2 weeks. The extra-large desktop space got me really spoiled.
Anyway, yesterday I boot up and suddenly things are not working right. The screen goes black when logging in, so I fiddle with the plugs and end up disconnecting the CRT. Now when I replug the LCD in, it works (until next login when I have to fiddle with the plugs again).
If I try to have both the CRT and the LCD plugged in, then the OS goes a bit batty. It keeps playing that sound you get when you connect or disconnect hardware. When I go to the NVIDIA control panel -- and this is really telling -- the part where it allows you to select monitors for dual-view keeps on listing the DS-263N... and then de-listing it... and then listing it... and then de-listing it... etc. It seems like it is detecting and rejecting the monitor every 3 seconds.
This has me really stumped. I tried upgrading the video card drivers but the effects are the same. I haven't changed anything, I just booted up one day and it stopped working correctly. The CRT still works, at least, so that is what I am using to type this message.
There doesn't seem to be any kind of monitor display drivers that need upgrading, according to Vista. I'm not sure what else to try.
Edit: I can't seem to get it to recognize the LCD alone anymore, even at POST there is no display, whatever input I plug it into. Nor in safe mode.
Starting to suspect this might be a problem with the DVI cable.
