(skip down to the actual problem section if you want to skip the story)I have been having trouble with this computer ever since I assembled it, but remain puzzled as to why this current problem occurs. I started with a Gigabyte GA-K8NS PRO mobo, which, much to my chagrin, would not allow me to run my memory at 200mhz with stability. So I updated my bios. Now let me tell you something about that mobo, it had dual bios, which is, in theory, supposed to be a failsafe incase your primary bios gets corrupted. However, gigabyte decided to make it so that when you flash the primary, you flash the backup, as well. So much for redundancy! Well, you can guess what happened next, thats right, I corrupted it. However, not the least of my problems. When that occurred, my graphics card evidentally became corrupted as well. Not so much. One new mobo and a leased nvidia 5200 later, I have come here to ask what you think is causing the most recent of my worries.

With my new motherboard, an asus K8N-E deluxe, my computer is crashing about half the time on start up and if i leave the computer idle for a few minutes. It took me 4 tries to boot up into windows most recently, and I had just applied some more thermal paste to my cpu, so maybe that had something to do with it (it was slightly spread too thinly before). Any suggestions, ideas, or questions that are relevant to the repair of this problem are welcome. Thank you for your time!
