Strange CPU Behaviour

Hi there,

I'm new to these forums, and new to overclocking

anyway whenever I read the Ghz on my system properties it always swithces back from 994mhz to 1.8ghz. I have no idea why

I just got my computer yesterday so I havent made any overclocking attempts yet.

Here are my specs:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ Socket939 WInchester Core.
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum s.939
Corsair TwinX1024 2x512DDR400
Maxtor 200gb
evga 6800gt
antec truepower 480w

I have no idea what the problem is. I downloaded cpu-z, and the numbers just keep changing. ranging from 1ghz to 1.8ghz

Being the newbie that I am, I tried doing a small OC on the FSB, to 205mhz hoping that it stay still (lol), but no luck.

So, these are the settings that keep changing (with the 5mhz overclock on FSB)

Voltage: 1.040 - 1.056
Core Speed: ranging from 1026.6mhz - 1800+
Multiplier: 5 - 9
HTT: 200 - 300+

the memory frequency and the FSB/RAM ratio seem to be changing as well.

Are these numbers supposed to do this? or appear constant?

I'd really appreciate someone's help. Like I said, I'm new to this stuff, so please bare with me >_<

sounds like "cool'nquiet" , look for it in bios and disable it?

also, stock the 939 3000+ should be 1.4volts afaik.

that is more than a little fluctuation.... look a his multi for instance....
