Strange cell phone problem.

Alright, this just started happening yesterday and it's happened twice now in just a few calls. First, yesterday morning, a friend called me, and when I picked up, I heard his half of a conversation with someone else. Meaning I could hear him talk, but not the other person, and when I spoke, no one heard me. I asked him later and he had called me a few minutes before, but my phone didn't ring.
Then, today, I called a friend, and again, could hear him talking, but he couldn't hear me. When I called him a few seconds later, he said that he was hearing another conversation when I had called the first time. Is this something to do with my service (Verizon), or my phone (Samsung SCH-a650)?

Thanks.

Sounds more like your service than your phone, but then I know absolutely nothing about these things.

call *228 and update your phone... see if that helps
tried that just now and the phone just sits like it's going to make a call but nothing happens. Think I'll take it in to the store today.

i had a panasonic that i dropped a few times and it would have service and display the proper number of bars but it could not actually connect to make a call or receive a call. maybe your problem is kind of similar.
