Strange car problem, changed flat using donut, now refuses to move!

Did you possilbly knock one of the wheel studs back into the wheel? Did you put the donut on inside-out?

yes yes yes! its a shop type jack, hard to miss... or not trip over. and yes lugs and back on. brakes seem standard size, so no rubbing or whatever with the wheel. wheel easily slipped on too.

Maybe you put the donut on backwards and it's scraping the brake caliper?

I think this is the most likely culprit, either that or the spare was the incorrect type for the car.

i thought of that, but the donut will not go on hollow side out. the brake caliper would be in the way. uknow.. donut wheels are kinda shaped like bowls to accomidate the brake assembly.

Take the donut off, maybe that'll help.

considering the mods on this car i'm starting to think its nonfactory donut. squish up to a caliper and it would lock the wheel no?

and do front wheel drive front wheels freewheel when jacked up?

Put the car in neutral (careful to put the ebrake on and blocks around the rear wheels) and you should be able to freely spin it with the wheel off the ground.

If it isn't on backwards, then yeah I'd have to lean towards just plain wrong donut..?

ok, i'm just sure its nonstandard donut now. i took it off again. look inside, theres a gouge where the caliper pressed up against the inside. ah well. so much for that. beware of nonstandard donuts.
