How about a message to a co-worker telling him that he was going to be audited by the IRS and to call his local branch?;)

Dude, it's cool to use this service for fun and all but just be careful.

It's ok to make someone piss in their pants but don't make someone fear for their life (bomb/terrorist threats).

Years ago when I had a mac (which have had good text to speech built in for about 15 years) I would call friends and leave weird computer messages by holding the phone up to the computer speaker. The best was that if I typed fast enough I could reply to what they said in the same voice, totally freaked them out. If I did this now they would just assume it was me on the computer again.

what is the "LEGIT" use of this service ?

> How about a message to a co-worker telling him that he was going to be audited by the IRS and to call his local branch?
LOL

good social engineering skill...

or u can pretend that u ARE the IRS auditor and this is an automated msg from the IRS branch and ask the victim to called u back to "verify" his info... ???

then a lot of fun will be followed...

msg under 150 words..

<hi, this is xxx calling from the IRS xxx office. we have a problem with your IRS filing. u can reach me at 123-456-7890 to disscuss about it>

thanks

<< Hmm the bomb threat and the bank thing are really good. For the bomb threat all you need to do is find a public computer. ^_^ Now. . . any other pranks? >>

Bomb threats are never cool. First, you will get in extreme amounts of trouble for doing this and it is a crime. Secondly, it's just stupid to phone in a bomb threat. It causes panic and wastes public use of police and such.

I had it call my girlfriend. She was in the rrom with me and it called and said "I'm watching you. You look really good in that blue sweatshirt. Don't try to get away, resistance is futile."

SHe handed me the phone and said "Oh my god listen to this". I started laughing right away because I didn't want to let it go too far. It took a little while for her to calm down though.

Couldn't get through the other day, but it just worked for me. Sure does sound strange.

This is ridiculously cool!!!! Good alternative to calling collect and saying "please pick me up" when they ask for your name.

When on earth are they going to replace the default voice I have heard in the mid 90s with a better one?

I guess this would indicate more active names than a phone book, plus they could say, I got your name and number from XXXXX.
Well NY has a law against telemarketers, so they can try to call me, but I will log and report them!

I think they want businesses to sign up for their full package. This is just a free sample, and therefore limited by number of letters. This will allow business people to get their email messages over the phone.

That isn't very funny. It may be funny to you when they go driving to the hospital in tears, but that is an abuse of the system and is extremely stupid.

Exactly! If you report which telemarketing company violates the law, you can get $1,000 reward.
