Strange booting problems

Hi,
I'm experiencing the following problem: I turn on my computer and 2 seconds later it beeps and turns out again. I repeat this for about 20 times and suddenly it works without any problem (not one single crash). When I turn the system off and turn it on again after a few minutes it also boots without any problem. But if I wait for about 1 hour - the same problem.

I tried to change RAM, cooled down my Northbridge with a new cooler and installed some case coolers to make sure I'm not dealing with a heat problem.
The last thing I've tried: I changed my CPU to an AMD 1800+.

The result: The problem is less worse but not gone. I only have to turn on my computer for about 2 or 3 times. It also can leave it turned off for about 3 hours now before getting the boot problem again.

My system:
AMD XP 1800+ with Thermalright AX-7 Christal cooler
Asus A7V133 (Rev. 1.09)
2 x 256 DIMM (Infineon)
Aopen Aeolus Ti4200
Enermax EG365P-VE 350W

Thanks for any hint you could give to solve this mystery!

First, I would set the bios back to the defaults. If the problem persists, I would then try a different power supply. If the problem still persists, then the motherboard most likely has a problem.

I had a similar problem on a system I had. I would power up, would get the post beep then nothing. I could hit reset three or four times then the system would work. I reinstallled. Reset the BIOS. Updated the BIOS. Changed Harddrives, memory, CPU. It turned out to be the AGP video card. Ever since I changed the video card, the system has booted perfectly. Ape Out.

I had a similar problem with two different machines... it turned out to be the PSU.... too bad I changed everything to find that out.

Good Luck
