Strange audio issues

Hey everyone. Just recently Ive began to have a strange problem with my audio, which Im pretty sure is likely software related. So far Ive pinpointed it down to this: when I have WoW running, and its minimized I can't play music in winamp or windows media player, and if I watch a video on youtube I cant hear any of the sound. Once I maximize the game everything starts playing normally. I'm not 100% sure that its always like this since sometimes I just ignore it.

Sorry for the fairly lame question, but its driving me nuts lol
