Strange Acer LCD Problem

Lately I've noticed that when I power-on my Acer AL2051W LCD but yet to power on my PC, the monitor has stopped displaying the 'no signal' message and instead cycles through all the colors (RGB White and Black) ad infinitum. I'm wondering if this is a sign that my monitor is about to have some imminent failure or something (though I don't see anything wrong at this point while using Windows/playing games).
 
Dunno. At work I have a Dell 3007FPW that does the same thing. I just figured it was a quirk of the monitor.
