Too much work for sub par service . Why not just get a $89 Iphone 4 from walmart on AT&T or VZW? Family lines are just $9.99+$30 if you find a family to join.

I think you do need to jailbreak.

On another note, my data speeds have been unreliable on ST lately. Anyone else?

No, you don't need to JB to use ST, it's AT&T's network, you don't have to JB to use AT&T on an AT&T phone.

I'm running 2 of them, gave them to my daughter and her fiancee and a year of service for each.

Are they iPhones, and can they send MMS without jailbreaking and manually editing the APN/proxy info?

You have to mod the APN and they do not have MMS capability.

Supposedly you can get MMS through a jailbreak, but i asked the kids to leave them alone and just send emails with an attachment.

That way they can update the OS's on their phones without worrying about anything.

We were talking about mms. You need to jailbreak for mms. On Howard forums they were also talking. Restoring from a backup that has the right settings, then you don't need a jailbreak.

My issue is my wife doesn't want to use a jailbroken phone. I wonder, is it possible to JB, change the settings for MMS, the undo the jailbreak and have it stick?

No...

You can however (if you have access to a t-mobile sim card) shove it in an iPhone 4 and change the APN settings.

Honestly though jailbreaking an iPhone isn't that hard and you'd be amazed at all the extra features you can gain...

As for Lyfer's comment "Too much work for sub par service ." I'd have to say that's pure crap. If you get good AT&T coverage, with straight talk you get the same AT&T service for a hell of a lot less. Customer service isn't the greatest but their Facebook support is great.

I'm only paying $25 a month right now for service... Can't beat it!
