Kinda weird you don't get a card or pin code so ... if ST found this to be unethical or something and pulled your mins you'd be screwed.

Tho, if I bought from my walmart I'd be saving over a 100 bucks. Where do you guys buy your cards?

I suppose if I bought via paypal I'd feel a little better about getting my $ back if for some reason it didn't go through.

Most likely a scam. Pretty sure its been mentioned as such on deal sites. PayPal charge back period is limited so if they cut you three months in you're basically screwed.

I've personally had horrible luck getting reimbursed for scams through Paypal - although after a few months, my credit card wouldn't help much either, so maybe Paypal would be better... although in my cases, they always side against me.

As far as the deal, it's a savings of $85 over Straighttalk's website:

I don't know, it seems legit enough to me. .. 129 positives... $85 savings... I'm not sure if I personally would do it, but it seems legit enough that I'd consider it. But probably, I'd just get it through Straighttalk directly.

AFIK, Straighttalk is sold and backed by Walmart. I would not get it any other way. That way you have a local place to reclama if necessary.

Agreed and pay with your credit card because:

Some credit cards offer rewards/perks.
Extra layer of consumer protection.
I said so.

I bought one of the 3 month refills for $80 for ST from a website. It worked and it has been about 1-2 months since then. I did find it a little sketchy, but it worked. There is a long discussion about ebay refills on howardforums. People were buying the 3 month refills form those ebay classified listings (one of the sellers had 3,000 feedback and been on ebay for a few years, so it seemed safe). Lately, all of the sellers disappeared and there aren't as many $80 refills anymore I think. They all say they are sold out. Not sure what happened, or what loophole they were using.

If you google ebay refills, there are many threads/warnings saying the cheap ebay refills are bought with stolen CC and then in 6 months the prepaid company will get charged back and ask you to pay for the service retroactively. Hasn't happened to me or anyone on howardforums, so YMMV.

There is one guy on howardforums fear mongering. Apparently, he runs a cell phone shop and kept buying these discounted refills from ebay (not sure if ST or others). Or he resold the refills for higher cost. Anyway they were bought using a stolen CC and charged back. All of his customers came back and demanded refunds. He said he lost like $1-2,000.

I don't think I would buy a full year, even if it was a legit seller since ST is not trustworthy with their service (throttling, other stuff).

No it's not a scam idk from ebay but not from wal-mart! I dislike the phones but it's whatever not a scam at Walmart just throwing my option in here.
