Id take advice from gay guys. They are obviously more in touch with their feminine sides, and sometimes real men need to be a bit less harsh. On a side note, I also believe that girls like guys who are rough and manly. I dont know how they find us particularly attractive....but I think most girls want a sense of security and wimpy guys/gays just dont deliver that.

Partly wrong . . . partly right.

There is no definition of a "gay" guy. Some are "wimpy" and others you wouldn't want to get into a fight with as they are "butch".

As to what women find attractive in men . . . who cares . . . just be grateful if you are straight (or bi). ;)
(different women like diffferent type of men - even geeks)

There's a reason why some gay guys have the hot i love you hags hanging around them all the time.

Do: Listen to gay guys on how to dress, decorate your apartment.
Don't: Listen to gay guys on how to have sex, speak, or order drinks.

But in response to the original post -- brown + black don't work. Neither do navy and black. Just looks awkward.

Do your 'rules' come from personal experience and 'trial and error'? :p

Depends on the issue. Straight guys can't dress well, but that is part of being straight sometimes. I find that a guy who dresses TOO well is...well a little fruity.

I'd question whether those guys on TV really are gay... it's become such a fad to be homosexual or bisexual these days it's sickening. If you want to learn more about women, talk to them, simple as that. Don't be a fool and think you can learn about women from gay men on a TV show... they're all about getting ratings, not telling you the truth. I hate those type of shows... where somebody states the obvious and everyone thinks they have some sort of off the wall insight into life... come on! Use your brain for more than keeping your skull from collapsing and you won't need to listen to these people.
To answer the question, no, I would not take advice about women from a gay man... he can't tell me anything I don't know or can't figure out myself about women.

Here's one thing I'd like all women to know... I have a penis and testicles... from time to time they get sweaty and stick to my leg... I will continue to adjust them and scratch myself when necessary, so either get use to it, or leave me alone.

Partly won't trust and partly don't care. I know that personally dressing well more than ocassionally is just too much work. And I used to dress like crap when I attracted my wife, so it's not like it matters that much anyway ;)

The trust issue is like this: A guy I know was wearing a pink polo shirt. All the ladies in our group (his wife included) thought he looked hot, but he received a lot of flak from the guys. I didn't say anything but easter bunny was the most memorable comment :)

I was referring to non-lazy people who still care about how they look . . .

Pink polo shirt? Hard to match to slacks . . . I prefer powder blue.

I thought anything went well with black... Ah well.

But yeah, Skoorb's comment about his friend with the pink polo is basically what I had in mind. I don't know if I can get myself to wear something like that, even if I knew it's bound to get me more attention (good from ladies, bad from guys).
