He saves your kids life.

Your wife loses his $100 fitbit.

No worries, you got him a $25 gift card for Outback.

:hmm:

Sorry for the click bait. While this story DOES involve my wife and the mailman, it's.....

She handled that with extreme impatience. You both took responsibility for it when you picked it up and now it's gone. Buying him a new one is less like a nice thing to do and more like an obligation at this point. All she had to do was wait and this wouldn't have happened.

So there is a good chance the fit bit doesn't belong to the postman. Also you wrongfully accused some poor kids who were just trying to make a buck delivering flyers. :D

and not seeing our 4 year old, who likes to run ahead.

Yeah that right there I said WTF this can't be good. I walk my kids too and sometimes they're on bikes and I taught the same lesson. I don't care how much you try, how much you expect them to learn and listen - they are still too young to know and watch out each and every time. This is one of those life lessons you don't risk with the possibility of losing said life. In short, don't let them go ahead on their own at that age no matter what. Secondly, make sure your wife is not on the phone or chatting up neighbors while strolling through with kids. It only takes 1 time. Kids are short, cars are tall, drivers are oblivious.

You can let go later, but not at 4.

As luck would have it, I have a $300 best buy gift card that has been burning a hole in my pocket for about a month. Best buy is selling the Fitbit in question for $49.99, $10 off reg price. Gonna hit up Best Buy before they close in an hour.

Will post more details about the kids and the interaction with the cops. And I'd be a hypocrite after commenting in wife threads all these years if I didn't add a pic. ATOT won't be disappointed.
