The 5th wheel was rocking and rolling all night long, gusts to 60. 2 inches of rain fell overnight. The "eye" passed over us at 5:30 this morning and the stars came out for a while. Then some thunderstorms moved in off the ocean, a very rare event out here. Whenever the rain is not pounding the roof we can hear the surf building up 1/4 mile away.
NWS predicts 30 foot swells coming ashore this afternoon through tomorrow. Coastal flood warnings, high wind advisory.
We have wanted to see big surf and a storm out here for years but they were always during the workweek.

Nice. I love storms on the ocean.
We have been missing out for about 20 years, no lie. If a storm came, It was during the work week or we had other plans. This was "the perfect storm", LOL!
Not too big so the power stayed on, not too small.

We walked along the jetty as close as we dared, and laughed about the salt on our faces and in our hair. I figured on washing the truck and trailer on the way home, but it poured most of the way here and did a fine job of rinsing it off.

EDIT: added some pics to the OP. Still waiting on that first vid to go live.

I really miss working on the water...perhaps more than any other part of what I did for my 30 years in the trades.

Yeah, sometimes it could get rough...and the dammed wind is a PITA with a crane, but it's still better than a good day working on land.

Nothing like the smell of it, or how the ocean puts you right in your place.

That's an amazing coastline.

We went horse back riding on the beach in Bandon a few years back.
