That's why they won't attempt to intercept without the radar. They know there is a limit to what they can handle relatively safely.
 
I actually just got done watching this show and I've never watched it before, kinda annoying, probably wont watch again
 
"Season 3 (2009)

Filming of the third season began and is currently underway and will include the orignal TIV crew, TVN crew with an updated vehicle called the SRV Dominator, Vortex2 Team led by Josh Wurman and a new team known as TWISTEX led by veteran storm chaser Tim Samaras along with Carl Young and Tony Laubach. This season also includes modified and new vehicles on the original teams including a new 2009 Jeep to take the place of the old SCOUT vehicle and a new vehicle nicknamed the TIV Doghouse."

Wiki says there is a season 3.
 
I've been told by people who went storm chasing this year that another team in the show had a tiv this year too...
